Piña Verde

Here’s another green smoothie recipe to add to your repertoire! The sweet base of this refreshing blend is pineapple. If you have a powerful blender, make sure to use the pineapple core. The core contains more bromelain than the outer flesh. Though tough to chew, blending it up in a smoothie is a great way to add this digestion enhancing, anti-inflammatory enzyme to your diet. Another powerful addition to this smoothie is cilantro, known to assist in the removal of toxic heavy metals from the body. Together, with a splash of lime, you’ll be recharged and ready for your day!

serves 1

  • 2.5 cups pineapple
  • 1/2 cup cilantro
  • juice from 1/2 small lime

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth.  Drink immediately & enjoy!
